Ministry decision of 11 August 2026
Almost everything a household here spends money on outside food is a fuel price the ministry sets: the car, because there is no bus up the last climb; the generator, because the grid gives a few hours a day; the mazout tank, because the winter is long at 1,800 m; and the cooking cylinder. This page reads the Ministry of Energy and Water's own price tables and shows what each of them costs today, per litre and per canister.
The ministry publishes by decision, not on a schedule — three came out in nine days in August 2026, and none at all between January and May. Every figure below carries the date of the decision that set it.

At LBP 89,500 to the dollar — Banque du Liban's official rate, which has held at about 89,500 lira to the dollar since February 2024. It is the rate the ministry's own figures are set against; a fresh-dollar price at a pump or from a distributor can differ. Checked 17 August 2026.

Set prices, not what you will be charged
The ministry sets liquid-fuel prices by the 20-litre canister, and that is how fuel is bought and carried here — from a station in a canister in the back of the car, or delivered by the tank. The per-litre figure is the same number divided by twenty; both are shown so you can check whichever one you are quoted.
The mazout column of the fuels table has read zero on every decision — that is the ministry's way of saying the decision did not set a price there, not that mazout is free. The figure it does publish is in the generator-tariff table, which this page reads instead, and which is issued monthly rather than every few days. Its date is shown beside it.
What the neighbourhood generator may charge per kilowatt-hour is a separate ceiling the ministry sets each month. It has its own page here — the generator bill checker — which reads the same ministry table the mazout price above comes from.
