Ohrid's first tools are up. 'Is Lake Ohrid Safe to Swim?' shows each beach's official bathing-water grade in plain words and adds a live after-rain caution, because the grade is measured on a calm day and stormwater changes the water the same afternoon. Alongside it: the 2026 summer festivals in one dated feed, and a tappable directory of the town's water, waste, hospital and emergency numbers.
A first research pass on Ohrid is in: ten documents on the lakeside town's demographics, its compressed May–October tourism economy, civic services, culture, geography, and residents' own concerns. The load-bearing findings are the lake's pollution and the recurring UNESCO "in danger" question (weighed at the July 2026 Busan session), the mid-season contradiction between "safe to swim" bathing-water results and visible sewage spills near Kaneo, the ageing 1988 Ohrid–Struga collector and its failures during power cuts, recurring wild dumpsites, and summer parking and beach pricing.
