Ten routes through the town, with each bus's real position from the Department for Transport's open feed — how far away it is, which way it's heading, and when that reading was taken. Four more routes are listed with their timetables but not tracked live, because they had not started running when the board was built and we would rather leave a route off than draw a bus that isn't there.
Every one of the 46 ward councillors and the elected Mayor, with the email addresses the council publishes, matched to your ward from your postcode. Next to each is the service line that will actually fix the thing faster — potholes, bins and street lights go to the contact centre on 01642 726001, not to a councillor. The register is read live from the council's own committee system.
Every council in the region side by side for 2026/27, from the government's own published figures — what each charges at every band, how much of the bill is police and fire rather than the council, and where Middlesbrough sits. It is seventh cheapest of twelve. The page also explains why its figure is £1.11 above the one on the Middlesbrough bill page: the national comparison averages the parish precepts across the borough, and most homes here pay none.
The caddies and red-lid bins finished being delivered at the end of June, and the new collections began on 30 June — weekly food waste, fortnightly paper and card. The tool says that plainly now, and gives the garden waste subscription price.
The tool was showing the council's statutory 'basic amount' — a borough-wide average that includes parish precepts — instead of the charge most homes actually pay. Band D is £2,548.05 for 2026/27, not £2,549.16. Nunthorpe and Stainton & Thornton now have their own option, with their parish precepts added on top.
Search any takeaway, café, pub, shop or school kitchen and see the council's official 0–5 rating and the date it was inspected. It reads the Food Standards Agency's own register, so it is never more than a day behind. All 1,159 registered businesses are in it.
Search any household item to see whether it's food waste, red-lid paper, blue-lid recycling or the black bin — under the 2026 bin system.
Where anti-social behaviour has been reported near the town centre lately, mapped and counted from UK Police open data.
A colored-pencil drawing of the Tees Transporter Bridge — its blue steel span and suspended gondola crossing the River Tees, with the working riverside beyond.
Four tools to start. A council tax calculator that shows this year's bill and how it splits between the borough council, Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire. Who to Call, a single place for reporting a pothole or fly-tipping, checking bins, and finding the hospital and money help. Community Picks, where residents share the best parmo, coffee and cheap days out. And a plain-words air quality check for the town centre. Bin-day lookups and parking are on the list next.
