The town page now carries a drawing of the Spicket River dropping over the falls beside the old Methuen Company mill wall — the water power the mills were built on, and the reason the streets around it run the way they do.
The electricity page was working out your saving against National Grid's Basic Service rate from December 2024, and saying so in a notice. National Grid has reset that rate several times since; it is 17.185 cents per kWh from 1 August 2026 to 31 January 2027, so that is what the page now compares against. The page also says how to leave Methuen Choice, which it did not before.
Methuen bans overnight street parking from 1 December to 1 April, between 1 and 6 in the morning, on every street in the city. The page says whether the ban is in force right now, what a ticket costs, and — the part it cannot work out for you — where the Police Department publishes each night's enforcement decision, including the text and email alerts you can sign up for.
The November 3 State General Election and every deadline on the way — registering to vote, applying for a mail ballot, and early voting at Sanborn Hall.
The city's own electricity program locked a rate of 12.83 cents per kWh through December 2027. See what that comes to on your own bill next to National Grid's default rate.
City hall, trash and water, the winter parking ban information line, and what to do when the power goes out, in one place with tappable numbers.
A Merrimack Valley mill city on the New Hampshire line, with three tools to start: who to call, what the city's electricity program saves you, and what's ahead on the 2026 ballot.
