Changelog

What the law lets you do when a lion, an elephant or another animal takes your stock or goes through your crops, and what you must report, to whom, and inside what deadline. Lions and cheetahs are the exceptions — the general right to kill a damage-causing animal does not apply to them, and their damage must be reported within seven days either way. Nine species carry compensation; hyena and jackal carry none. Every answer names the section of the Act or the 2005 order it comes from.

A new directory of verified numbers: Botswana's national emergency lines (police, ambulance, fire), Maun Police Station, Letsholathebe II Memorial Hospital, Water Utilities Corporation, North West District Council, the DWNP office that books Moremi Game Reserve directly, and Maun International Airport. Pinned to the town page alongside Water Watch, Road Watch and Delta Wildlife by Month.

Botswana's Delta gateway village joins the platform with a neighbour-reported water outage board, a neighbour-reported road-hazard board, and a month-by-month guide to Okavango Delta wildlife.
