The city's big free festivals in the order they come around — the Spring Festival, the Hungarikum fair, Night of Museums, the Kodály festival, Jazzfőváros, Hírös Hét on the main square and the Advent market — each with a countdown to its next date and a link to its own programme.

Kecskemét's page now opens with a colored-pencil banner of apricot trees in fruit on the sandy Homokhátság plain — the orchards planted to bind the blowing sand that built the canning town.
