What a ride costs, how to pay with exact change, where to buy a monthly pass, and how the door-to-door Para-TRAN and R-TRAN services work — in English and Spanish. It links the city's route map and explains that there's no service on weekends or holidays.
The Kansas Legal Services entry gave the Wichita number. There is an office at 701 E. Comanche in Dodge City, covering Ford County and 21 others in southwest Kansas — that number, 620-227-7349, is now the one on the page. The district's central office has been added too, for enrollment questions.
Both pages were English-only while the town's other five tools were bilingual. Everything on them — the explanations, the notes, the warnings about what the federal record cannot tell you — now reads in English and Spanish.
The water record described the two wells that were shut off but not the part a parent needed: on 16 March the city asked families not to give tap water to babies under six months, said bathing was fine and that anyone older could drink it, and lifted the advisory on the 17th after a re-test at 6.42 mg/L. That is now on the page, with the city's own numbers.
Put in your usage and it works out the monthly statement at the rates the commission adopted for April 2026. It leads with the part people do not expect: your sewer charge comes from your December, January and February water use, not this month's — so watering the lawn in July costs you water and not sewer, and a leak over the winter is paid for all year.
The page reads EPA's compliance database live. It shows the nitrate violation on the city system's three-year record, the fact that there is no current violation, and what neither of those things tells you — the two wells shut off in March 2026 will never appear here, because shutting a well to stay under a limit is the opposite of a violation. National Beef, Cargill and the City of Ford are listed too, since they run their own systems on the same aquifer.
Dodge City goes live with live NWS weather warnings and wind, outdoor heat-and-air windows, Ford County's weekly drought classification with the town's Ogallala water story, a verified who-to-call directory, and the trash pickup schedule. Every tool carries its content in English and Spanish throughout.
The drought page and the water record both said the city pumps from about 29 wells. The Water Division publishes 21, and the March 2026 nitrate notice agrees exactly — two wells shut off, nineteen still running. Both pages now say 21.
Is there school today, and when is the next day off? USD 443 publishes three calendars and they do not line up: elementary, middle and high school go back on 18 August, while Bright Beginnings starts on the 21st and finishes five days earlier in May. The high school also keeps its own conference days. Every date comes from the district's board-approved calendar, in English and Spanish.
